Close-ended question- What does Connie's hair look like?
Answer- Connie's hair was long and dark blond.
Open-ended question- Which daughter does Connie's mother like more?
Answer- Connie's mother puts up a pretense that she likes June more because she's more sensible than Connie but Connie believes that her mother really likes her more because she's prettier than June.
World connection question- If an unknown 30 year old man came up to a teenage girl's door today and told her she had to go for a ride with him how would she typically react?
Answer- If that happened today the girl would typically lock the door, run to the phone and call the police; she wouldn't wait to do this, she would do it immediately.
Universal theme/ Core question- If someone is attractive does that mean that they're going to be full of themselves or dimwitted?
Answer- No, not necessarily, but that is the usual prejudice.
Literary analysis question- If Oates had made Arther Friend a younger character would it have affected his impact on the story?
Answer- Yes, he wouldn't have been as creepy and Connie might have found him more trustworthy.
